What is the quotation about life is what happens when you are busy making plans… Life has been rather fun and full lately, and i apologize for not taking time to share more of it here.
Here’s some highlights….
Things in the shape of a circle… Wheels, records and cupcakes!
Throughout the winter, I’ve been taking some biking course through CycleU. I took their road biking series which was an introduction to riding in a group, bike handling, hill riding and racing. I’ve come a long way from having no idea about road bikes a few months ago. I’ve since fallen head over heels for this sport.
Some of the classes were at their West Seattle location and this was a great excuse to visit Alki beach.
CycleU is also around the corner from Cupcake Royale and Easy Street Records so we had to stop there too.
Miles loved the cupcake shop so much that he requested that we go back for Valentine’s Day!
Two little Valentines!
Most days we walk to and from school. Miles really likes to meander home. Later in life, i’m sure that we will enjoy the memories of walking to school with the kids.
Uncle Phil came for a weekend visit!
The kids always loves stories read to them by their guests.
We had to have a crab feast.
We got for some ice skating! We need to do this more often.
Regular sweet life in a mild winter…
Winter Cycling!
Before our University-aged babysitter went back to school, we got out for some biking dates. This one was my first ever 50 mile ride, riding around Lake Sammamish twice. We continued to get out for weekly cycling throughout the rest of the winter.
Hello 2010
On New Year’s Day, i was took sick to run a race that i had planned. But we still went to watch the people dive into a very cold Lake Washington and have M&M participate in the kid’s dash.
Along Peaceful and Empty Ski Trails
Thankfully we got in a few beautiful days of long skiing with the kids. Mina was quite a little skier. Miles would flip flop between skiing and sledding. Rich would flip flop between getting a good workout and then a really good workout when pulling an extra fifty or something pounds. When Mina got tired, she’d hold on the back and get dragged along for awhile.
Christmas 2009!
We had a great Christmas. As always, we celebrated with lots of food including our Ethiopian meal. The kids are really getting into the swing of this annual meal which we eat with our fingers. This year was sweet, as Mina actually ran for our Christmas Day run! For previous jolly jogs, she was pushed in a stroller. Miles still likes a good ride and this year he (and all of us) wore a special pair of mittens!
Suncadia
Rich and i got away for the first time in 6 years! We went to a nearby resort and enjoyed two days of XC skiing!
It was a fun little road trip indeed. We weren’t sure what the weather was going to be like so we actually went with equipment for skiing, biking, swimming and running! See the bike on top of the car.
